Chestnut Honey

From the wild chestnut forests of Mt. Pelion

Description
APHRODITE Chestnut Honey is collected from the wild chestnut trees on Mt. Pelion, also known as the mountain of Centaurs. It is a combination of honeydew honey from the leaves of the tree and nectar honey from its flowers. It is a variety harvested during the early summer season. Chestnut Honey is a source of trace elements and nutrients for the human body, while it provides a high content of antioxidants. Finally, this variety of honey is beneficial for our digestive and immune system, as it has significant antibacterial and healing properties.

Texture – Aroma
The APHRODITE Chestnut Honey has a bright golden-red colour, as well as a dense and rich texture. Its aromas are distinctive and strong, with a mild chestnut woodiness. Its creamy texture is likely to cause crystallisation of the honey after a period of a few months. Crystallisation is a natural process and is mainly a sign of natural and pure honey. To restore the honey to its original state, simply place the jar in a container with warm water.
Taste
APHRODITE Chestnut Honey offers a rich taste, as intense as its smell. It has a low sweetness and a slightly bitter taste, which makes it such a special variety. Its strong flavour and nutritional value are also due to the high content of undigested pollen grains contained in it.
Culinary
The complex taste of APHRODITE Chestnut Honey accompanies ideally any yellow cheese, as well as your red meat creations due to its low sweetness. It is also a perfect choice for hot drinks and pairs wonderfully with fruits and cold smoothies.
